| The
Bay Horse is situated in the Lake District's only coastal village, Ravenglass.
It is an 18th century Coaching Inn and has been lovingly restored to
enhance it's charm and character. All the original features of the property have now been uncovered revealing oak lintels, wooden doors and paneling, beams and fireplaces. If you like old properties you will love our home. For many years Ravenglass was the haunt of smugglers and there are rumours that say there is an underground tunnel connecting the Bay Horse with the Ship Inn (another old Inn across the road). This would have been used by smugglers to move their contraband from Inn to Inn so hiding from the customs men. More information can be on Wikipedia |
